Performance and Key Applications

The Gliderol Crystal Aluminum Roller Shutters are designed for commercial openings, providing reliable security while allowing visibility and ventilation.

Opening suitability: Designed for commercial openings up to 5 m wide × 5 m high in a single panel.
Curtain material: Uses the same design principles and components as the Roller Door, except for the curtain material, which consists of 72mm x 1.2mm thick extruded aluminium interlocking slats.
Model options:
- Crystal Plain: plain full slats.
- Crystal Ventilated: Slats perforated with 225 mm × 40 mm slots spaced at 20 mm apart to create a lattice grille appearance.
- Crystal Vision: Perforated slats with 1.5 mm thick clear acrylic or polycarbonate inserts for a glazed effect.
Custom combinations: Slat types can be mixed in a single shutter to achieve specific architectural or practical effects.
Appearance: Bevelled slat edges form lateral 'V'-grooves, giving a clean, sculptured finish when viewed from the front.
Finishes: The Crystal Aluminum Shutter is available in natural, light bronze, or black anodised finishes, as well as powder-coated or fluorocarbon-coated to match desired colour schemes.

Technical Features and Build

Our Crystal Aluminum Roller Shutter is architecturally specified as a manually operated Roller Shutter constructed of 72mm x 1.2mm thick extruded aluminium interlocking slats in natural anodised/light bronze anodised/black anodised/powder coated/fluorocarbon coated* finish.

The slats shall be (describe accordingly for 'Crystal Ventilated or 'Crystal Vision' as desired).

Drum Assembly and Edges

The drum assembly of the Crystal Aluminum Roller Shutter shall consist of a rigid corrugated torque-tube containing suitably graded oil-tempered torsion springs secured to nylon drumwheels. The edges of the slats shall be fitted with proprietary nylon end-clips secured to alternate slats to prevent lateral movement of the slats.

Bottom Rail and Guides

The bottom rail shall consist of a single-length aluminium extrusion with the base of the rail containing two slots to retain a seamless finned PVC weatherseal. The guides shall also be a proprietary extruded aluminium section with slots at the lips to retain a seamless PVC strip designed to prevent metal-to-metal contact for smoother and quieter operation.

System and Control Box

Electrically operated doors shall be as above described, but containing a proprietary motor operator installed within the door roll. The control box shall feature push-button controls and a built-in auto-stop safety device. The system must be convertible to manual operation at arm's reach and have remote control and power back-up capabilities.
